(June 23 10AM: Map for walking in Philly today.) Here is a map showing the path from the National Constitution Center/Independence Hall area (bus dropoff around 1-130pm) to the City Hall (bus pickup 7pm). My phone number is +1-302-437-6955. I also have WhatsApp via that number.

(June 22 925 PM: Morning shuttles.) Here is the shuttle sign up link for Tuesday morning shuttles. Please sign up for an early shuttle if you took a late one Monday. Please sign up for an early shuttle if you got on a Monday shuttle that you did not sign up for. Walking to Purnell is fine also, just be sure to be on time for Rich. It is a matter of efficiency and respect. You are the best. Thanks for your great spirit and participation.
(June 22 745AM: Get on the right shuttle!) I have just been informed that there is a second set of shuttles running this morning, for a conference in the UD Engineering College. Please be sure to get on the right shuttle for our group. Else you will end up in the wrong location and probably also disrupt that conference's process. Also, please get on the shuttle you signed up for!
(June 21: Completion with Distinction.) Everyone who does the classes all the way through---no misses---will receive a Certificate of Completion on Thursday. We have a photographer coming to memorialize the event for you. For Completion with Distinction, we will provide an additional letter to attest to your Distinction. To get this, you need to 1) complete the Bloomberg BSA/BQL online modules, and 2) complete Professor Matt Fleckinstein's homework exercises. You should email me evidence of completion to udiscteprogram@gmail.com. I am not making requirements for the exact evidence you provide---just provide reasonable evidence. If you want to receive the letter on Thursday, you need to do this by Tuesday night. Any questions, just ask me. I am setting it up this way to help signal to you how to get the most out of our program. Thanks for your diligence!
(June 21: Monday June 22 Shuttles.) Here is the shuttle signup for June 22 Monday morning. If you have ridden a late one lately (even if you did at as a non-signed up jumper-on), then don't sign up for a late one today. We take turns.
(June 18: Friday shuttles.) Here is the shuttle signup for June 19 Friday morning. Sing up if you want. If you went at 830 on Thursday--even if you did it without signing up---only sign up for an earlir one today. We take turns.

(June 17: Wednesday Afternoon Shuttles.) Do you want a shuttle ride back to the hotel this afternoon? We would start the shuttle pickups at 430pm. Write your name on this doc if you want a shuttle ride this afternoon. Or, you can walk if you prefer. To walk, go to Main Street and head east. You will come to the hotel after walking about 15-20 minutes. Get a map on your phone if you do this.

(June 15: Wednesday Football.) In discussions with your ISCTE faculty today, it is clear that you will really really (really) want to see the Portugal match on Wednesday. We are working on a way to give you time for this. We will ask you to be sure when you arrive, because making time for this will require you to stretch your schedule (and energy) on some other days. We can discuss when you arrive on Tuesday. Safe travels!

(June 11: Shuttles.) In our Zoom meetup later today, I will tell you in person about how shuttles from hotel to campus will work. You will need to sign up each day. Here is the signup list for the first morning, Wednesday June 17.

(May 29: Insurance update.) We have now purchased the Patriot Platinum travel health insurance plan for each of you. Coverage will extend through the weekend after the program. The coverage limit is $5 million, as I said we expected to do. For details on the setup of the policy, see below in these Announcements. Your specific insurance card and exact policy will be coming soon. We will be forwarding them to ISCTE Administration to discribute to you.
(May 21: Insurance status.) There have been some changes in personnel at the insurance company we use that have delayed the paperwork a bit. We are pushing to get your traveller health insurance cards to you asap. I think it will be next week. See below in these Announcements if you are looking for more details on the insurance.
(May 13: Canvas is back!) As of this afternoon, Canvas appears to be back up. Thanks for your patience.
(May 12: Canvas for Zoom Program.) As you may have seen when trying to enter the Canvas for Professor Terry's program the past day or so, Canvas has experienced a security breach and shut the door to the site. It looks like a ransomware event. Professor Terry and I are working on an alternative way for you to have access to materials, etc. Please watch for info here. Please tell your colleauges who are in the course. Please!
(May 11: Traveler Health Insurance.) We are in the process of purchasing a traveler health insurance policy for you. When the purchase is complete, each person will revieve a card and specific info. We anticipate that the purchase will be complete by the last week of May.
I have been informed of a question as to what this will be like. We are negotiating on the "Patriot American Platinum Group" plan from IMGlobal. We will certainly buy a $0 deductible policy. We are trying to buy a $5million coverage limit, but it will certainly be a high limit even if it isn't that high. The terms of the policy will be their standard ones---that is, traveller health coverage to deal with emergencies. General information on the type of plan we are buying is at this link. (May 11: A follow up point on traveller health insurance and preparedeness.) To restate a point I made in our intro meeting: Traveller health insurance most often works on a reimbursement basis. That is, may health care facilities might expect payment up front or bill you directly. You should be prepared to handle such situations.

This is a key communications portal for our program! Check it every week in April and May, check it every couple days in June before the program, and check it all the time during the program!
(16 April: Video Newark.) Here is a video I recorded in May 2024 to give you a sense for what Newark Delaware looks like. This is about Main Street and the north edge of UD's campus, places you will be a lot. If you like these, you can leave comments on the video (its a YouTube channel). That will encourage me to make more---and I may be able to repond to the comments also if YouTube allows.
